I see other users facing same issue here
The Let’s Encrypt SSL does not enabled on our .co domains.
We are using cpanel plugin.
Any idea when this bug gonna be fixed?
Problem fixed.
Expired certificates on the domains was causing the issue.
Unfortunately still having problem enabling SSL on a .co domain. The logs are as follow:
4:08:28 PM WARN The domain “www.xyz.co” failed domain control validation: The system queried for a temporary file at “http://www.xyz.co/.well-known/acme-challenge/RFHNKBRAI7BRUO_J3EBHZ51YDYOBRYN1”, but the web server responded with the following error: 404 (Not Found). A DNS or web server misconfiguration may exist.
Any idea how to fix this issue?
Hi @Deker,
Did you literally mean the domain xyz.co, or did you replace the actual domain name here with “xyz”?
Of course I replaced the main domain. Does it matter?
It would be great to know what the domain is; for example, a lot of people are advertising IPv6 addresses that their web servers aren’t answering on, which is easy to check if we have the domain name.
We have no issues with other domains. Only this single account facing the issue.
Assuming that you have a particular web root directory that you’ve somehow configured or specified, you might want to check that a text file placed in .well-known/acme-challenge
under that directory is visible on the web under http://aftabstore.co/.well-known/acme-challenge/. Otherwise, I would suggest asking for help from cPanel or your hosting provider (if they support cPanel in your environment).
