Certificate expired how to renew

Website is no longer secure, certificate expired it was provided by Lets encrypt. Host provider has not answered any of my contacts in last two months. Have not needed to contact in two years.
Help I just want to renew certificate but I don’t know how to. I am non verbal so unable to contact by phone.

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is: www.penrux.co.uk

I ran this command: certificate not secure

It produced this output: The certificate has expired or is not yet valid, valid from 14/08/19 to 12/11/19

My web server is (include version): WIX

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): ?

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: Hall designs

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): I don’t know

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): cpanel used but I do not use

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot): ??

My website stopped working 5 weeks ago. I could view the shopfromt but could not sign in using my admin as not secure, no SSL certificate

Hi @Wends64

Wix is a "closed world" with an own Letsencrypt client.

So if your certificate isn't renewed automatic, ask Wix.

But checking your domain - do you really use Wix? https://check-your-website.server-daten.de/?q=penrux.co.uk

You use wix - name servers - ns12.wixdns.net.

But your domain:

Host T IP-Address is auth. ∑ Queries ∑ Timeout
penrux.co.uk A 185.38.44.227 London/England/United Kingdom (GB) - HostDime.com, Inc. Hostname: ns1.thewebhostserver.com yes 1 0
AAAA yes
www.penrux.co.uk C halldesigns.co.uk yes 1 0
A 95.215.225.28 Manchester/England/United Kingdom (GB) - Cyber Host Pro Ltd Hostname: 95-215-225-x.no-reverse-dns.ukdns.biz yes

Non-www and www have different ip addresses.

And your www version doesn't look like a wix domain.

What's halldesigns.co.uk? Your domain?

That's not a typical wix configuration. And the source code has no information about wix.

So you should ask the owner of halldesigns.co.uk how to renew your certificate.

And your non-www has only timeouts, so the non www version doesn't exist.

My website was with WIX but it was too basic, they wouldn’t let me move it so although I purchased the domain from Wix that was three years before and on a Wix website the host is HallDesigns.
HallDesigns built the site on Opencart, then you build each page as you want.
The name servers point to Hall Designs.

HallDesigns has not been answering my emails since this problem started, I had contacted then about 6 months before about another problem which was put right. I have emailed from two email accounts in case one is a problem but they don’t answer either.
Everyone was fine with the website for two years previous to this.
I am non verbal so I can’t phone them.

I left them a glowing review when I first bought the set up but now they have left me in the lurch with no website.

How can I renew the certificate myself? Is it something that I can do or I am better off buying a certificate elsewhere and getting the help I need…

How did you create that expired certificate? And how did you installed it (after switching from Wix to Hall designs)?

If you have a cPanel, isn't there an integrated Letsencrypt client? That's always the best solution.

I didn’t create it.

I didn’t install it.

HallDesigns built the website and are the host.

HallDesigns seem to have left the planet as they are the host what can I do. I tried buying one from elsewhere but if I do they will only send it to the host - HallDesigns

The certificate has been installed on CPanel Lets Encrypt but the failure message says -
This SSL certificate was already installed.

The SSL website is now active and accessible via HTTPS on this domain:

The SSL website is also accessible via this domain, but the certificate does not support it. Web browsers will show a warning when accessing this domain via HTTPS:

The SSL certificate also supports this domain, but this domain does not refer to the SSL website mentioned above:

I had already tried that

Kind regards,

Wendy.

Just FYI, Per ICANN regulations they are required to allow you to transfer the domain to any registrar you choose. -- see here

If there's an issue with CPanel renewals there's not much anyone here can do to help, it's a closed locked down system. I would recommend looking at other hosting providers if you can't get any support there.

Checking your domain there is a different result - read https://check-your-website.server-daten.de/?q=penrux.co.uk

First, your non-www and your www have different ip addresses:

Host T IP-Address is auth. ∑ Queries ∑ Timeout
penrux.co.uk A 185.38.44.227 London/England/United Kingdom (GB) - HostDime.com, Inc. Hostname: ns1.thewebhostserver.com yes 1 0
AAAA yes
www.penrux.co.uk C halldesigns.co.uk yes 1 0
A 95.215.225.28 Manchester/England/United Kingdom (GB) - Cyber Host Pro Ltd Hostname: 95-215-225-x.no-reverse-dns.ukdns.biz yes

Second, your non-www + https has a timeout, your www + https has a valid certificate:

Domainname Http-Status redirect Sec. G
http://www.penrux.co.uk/ 95.215.225.28 301 https://www.penrux.co.uk/
Html is minified: 102,32 % 0.173 A
http://penrux.co.uk/ 185.38.44.227 -14 10.030 T
Timeout - The operation has timed out
https://penrux.co.uk/ 185.38.44.227 -14 10.037 T
Timeout - The operation has timed out
https://www.penrux.co.uk/ 95.215.225.28 GZip used - 3726 / 15078 - 75,29 % Inline-JavaScript (∑/total): 3/1095 Inline-CSS (∑/total): 1/193 200 Html is minified: 135,45 % 4.147 B

The certificate is created - today:

CN=www.penrux.co.uk
	21.12.2019
	20.03.2020
expires in 90 days	www.penrux.co.uk - 1 entry

But the ip addresses of non-www and www are different, so halldesigns.co.uk can't create a certificate with the non - www version.

So the main things are ok.

Perhaps change your config, so the the non www has the same ip address as the www.

All fixed now, thanks.

The site is active one more, I managed to contact HallDesigns on the ninth time or trying, they are going to look at your suggestion.

Kind regards,

Wendy.
