Renew feature not working

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

this information is the same for all the domains on this account, none of the renew buttons are working on any of the sites.

What plugin do you use?

What's that?

Looks like you use a special client.

Ah - searched - you use that client - https://sslzen.com/ - that's the required information - so that client is buggy.

Check, if there is an update. If not, use another client.

Checking your domain there are some older certificates - https://check-your-website.server-daten.de/?q=vetsfishingwithvets.us#ct-logs

10 complete, first from 2018-05-15.

If you have created all these certificates with that client, that client may use ACME-v1. That's deprecated.

--> use another client if there isn't an update.

I am using the https://sslzen.com/ plugin for free ssl which you have to renew every 90days. But the Renew Button is not working. I have gotten several emails asking me to renew but it does not work.

Email from [expiry@letsencrypt.org]

Your certificate (or certificates) for the names listed below will expire in 20 days (on 09 Dec 19 00:13 +0000). Please make sure to renew your certificate before then, or visitors to your website will encounter errors.

We recommend renewing certificates automatically when they have a third of their
total lifetime left. For Let’s Encrypt’s current 90-day certificates, that means
renewing 30 days before expiration. See
https://letsencrypt.org/docs/integration-guide/ for details.

For any questions or support, please visit https://community.letsencrypt.org/. Unfortunately, we can’t provide support by email.

For details about when we send these emails, please visit https://letsencrypt.org/docs/expiration-emails/. In particular, note that this reminder email is still sent if you’ve obtained a slightly different certificate by adding or removing names. If you’ve replaced this certificate with a newer one that covers more or fewer names than the list above, you may be able to ignore this message.

Here is the exact error I am getting on all the sites

Error raised by LetsEncrypt API. Please try again later.

As written. That’s a problem of your client / tool, not a Letsencrypt problem.

So update your client or switch to another client.

PS: And that’s not a Letsencrypt error, that’s a very unspecific error of that tool.

Alternatively, you could ask the sslzen developer(s) for support, or at least ask how to get more debugging information that you could share with us here that might help to better understand what it was trying to do and what exact error prevented it from succeeding. In this case, @JuergenAuer’s frustration is partly because there is so little useful information shown to you by sslzen—in any case, not enough information on its own to give practical suggestions for how to fix the problem.

Pretty odd! I can confirm that Let's Encrypt successfully issued a certificate for vetsfishingwithvets.us, www.vetsfishingwithvets.us yesterday: https://crt.sh/?id=2138498959

The ACME client that created the certificate didn't send a user-agent header so I can't confirm if it was sslzen or not. Based on the API traffic it looks to me like it succeeded overall. There was a successful GET request for the issued certificate and everything.

I am having the exact same error trying to renew an expired certificate with the SSL Zen Plugin Version 1.2 “Error raised by LetsEncrypt API. Please try again later.” see screenshot:

The certificate just expired on 11/27/19
