Need help with DNS process for encryption https:

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is: Should be https:www.virgin-deas.myshopify.com

I ran this command:

It produced this output:

My web server is (include version):

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: Shopify

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): Need assistance with DNS process can someone help with the process. I was getting error message in he Google verification panel

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot):

Hi @KatinaLarkin

I don't think that's possible. Checking your domain - https://check-your-website.server-daten.de/?q=virgin-deas.myshopify.com#connections

there is a shop with a wildcard:

CN=*.myshopify.com, O="Cloudflare, Inc.", L=San Francisco, S=CA, C=US
	20.04.2020
	09.10.2020
expires in 50 days	myshopify.com, *.myshopify.com - 2 entries

That works with the non-www, but not with the www version of your domain.

And I don't think you are able to install a certificate and to replace the wildcardcard.

So you should remove your www dns entry.

Host Type IP-Address is auth. ∑ Queries ∑ Timeout
virgin-deas.myshopify.com CNAME shops.myshopify.com yes 1 0
A 23.227.38.64 Montreal/Quebec/Canada (CA) - Cloudflare, Inc. Hostname: shops.myshopify.com yes
www.virgin-deas.myshopify.com CNAME shops.myshopify.com yes 1 0
A 23.227.38.64 Montreal/Quebec/Canada (CA) - Cloudflare, Inc. Hostname: shops.myshopify.com yes
*.myshopify.com A 23.227.38.64 yes
AAAA yes
CNAME shops.myshopify.com yes
*.virgin-deas.myshopify.com A 23.227.38.64 yes
AAAA yes
CNAME shops.myshopify.com yes

But there is a DNS wildcard *.myshopify.com, so that system is a little bit curious.

And you can't change that, because it's a myshopify.com dns entry.

So the wildcard creates a working dns www entry, but the system doesn't support the www + https.

You’ve already opened a thread about the same website. Please continue there.

When I log into my domain on google without the www but only with the name of virgin-deas.myshopify.com domain it automatically logs into my store and FB account. Is this normal

Okay so saying I am fine, good. Thank you so much for your help!

It could be Google needs some more time perhaps. I’m not sure, because it’s been a while for me using the Google Search Console.

At least from a technical point of view there’s nothing wrong with your HTTPS.
