Hi @KatinaLarkin, your site virgin-deas.myshopify.com already has a working TLS certificate, a wildcard like @JuergenAuer already explained in the thread you opened an hour ago about approximately the same issue.
Unfortunately, wildcard certificates only work for one label (a label is the piece of a websites address between the dots). So *.shopify.com
would be valid for virgin-deas.myshopify.com
(virgin-deas
is one single label which is covered by the wildcard asterisk *
), but www.virgin-deas.myshopify.com
would not (because it has two labels: www
and virgin-deas
). One might think: "Why not use *.*.myshopify.com
then, so it would cover two labels with two asterisks? Good thinking, but unfortunately, this is prohibited by the organisation making the public key infrastructure rules (CA/B Forum).
The only solution I’m thinking of is: only use virgin-deas.myshopify.com, don’t use www.virgin-deas.myshopify.com.
