Certificate only covers one version of domain

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is: waxwing energy.co.uk

I ran this command: installed cert on cPanel with host

It produced this output: cPanel via Godaddy says the cert only covers waxwing energy.co.uk but not mail.waxwingenergy.co.uk or www.waxwingenergy.co.uk and a host of other options.

My web server is (include version): I don't know what this means

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): as above

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: Godaddy

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know): don't know

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): cPanel?

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot): I don't know

Hello @Gervase, welcome to the Let's Encrypt community. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is the presently being served certificate:

General Information
Common Name: energy.co.uk
SANs:
    DNS:energy.co.uk
    DNS:www.energy.co.uk
   Total number of SANs: 2
Signature Algorithm: sha256WithRSAEncryption

The certificate's SANs only include energy.co.uk and www.energy.co.uk

So to solve your issue recreate the certificate with the additional domain names included in the SANs as well.

Thanks Bruce. In the wordpress settings it does not seem to allow me to add further subdomains. Only to include alias (www.waxwingenergy.co.uk)
However, I see now it says to include subdomains like mail.... you must use the DNS challenge method. But when I try to do that it can not achieve the DNS challenge ( i don't really know what this means. However my domain provider did tell me the other day that my DNS settings are hosted with a different provider to met website. maybe this is why.

Please read Challenge Types - Let's Encrypt and especially the section on DNS-01 challenge.

Thanks Bruce. Its pretty much a foreign language to me even though it is written in my native tongue!! But I'll give it a go.
