Certbot HTTPS Certificate not installing

Please, I’m new to hosting, so would like for simple explanations. I’m trying to get an HTTPS certificate for my website, but I’m getting errors installing the certificate. After putting my domain, it keeps telling me certificate not installed.

My domain is: www.fiftonacademy.com

I ran this command:

sudo certbot --nginx

It produced this output:

 - Unable to install the certificate
 - Congratulations! Your certificate and chain have been saved at:
Your key file has been saved at:
Your cert will expire on 2019-12-23. To obtain a new or tweaked
version of this certificate in the future, simply run certbot again
with the "certonly" option. To non-interactively renew *all* of
   your certificates, run "certbot renew"

My web server is (include version):

nginx/1.14.0 (Ubuntu)

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):

Ubuntu 18.04

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

Digital Ocean

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know):

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot):

certbot 0.31.0

Please any help is appreciated.

Hi @agozie

Looks like Certbot doesn't understand your configuration.

Certbot expects you to have an existing server block using HTTP that refers to the name, not the IP address, of your server, so that it can use this as a basis for creating a matching HTTPS server block.

There is no server_name defined.

Something like

server_name www.fiftonacademy.com;

is expected.
