Why is my www.domain not secure

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is:https://pat-testing-edinburgh.co.uk

I ran this command:www.pat-testing-edinburgh.co.uk

It produced this output: site is not secure

My web server is (include version):

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know):

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot):

Because all certificates issued for your domain name are missing the www subdomain.

Without any more information regarding how you got that certificate in the first place, it's impossible to guide you further.

Many thanks for your help and patience. I have 2 sites and the only difference is the one that is ok in wordpresss Settings General is
Wordpress Address URL https://www.domain,name
Site Address URL https://www.domain.name
The one that does not recognise www
Wordpress Address URL https://domain,name
Site Address URL https://domain.name

I tried to change it but had issues logging in so changed it back
Could this be my problem ?

I don't know, because I have a hard time understanding your post which claim 2 sites, but you have redacted the actual domain names and changed both domain names to th same redacted domain name, which confuses me. Or is just the www label the only difference?

Also, it would not change anything to my previous post regarding your domain name pat-testing-edinburgh.co.uk.

Sorry the other site is edinburgh-stair-lighting.co.uk

All the recent certificates for edinburgh-stair-lighting.co.uk have a wildcard, so that would include the www subdomain, so not surprising if you don't have the issue with that domain.

Currently not, please see this part of my first post:

Because the answer to your problem is most likely the simple answer "add the www subdomain to your certificate", but that's probably not something useful to you without the "how" part. But we can't answer the "how" part without much more information unfortunately.
