Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.
The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):
My hosting provider, if applicable, is: TSO hosts
I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know): yes
I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): levelu 120.0 (build11)
The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot):
I am a 72 year old man trying to maintain a website but having major problems with our hosting as they keep updating and changing our hosting service and I am unable to keep up.
Today our ssl Certificate failed to renew - first time in many years - and I don't know enough to repair the situation.
A message in my cpanel suggests contacting Letsencrypt to ask for a renewal.
Thank you both for your input. Apparently the problem has now been solved by the original builders of the website - Thank You Resknow - and we are now up and running again.
However, the support I received from TSO hosts was terrible and I believe guided towards paying for the SSL cert.
I don't think it will be long before free SSL is slowly stopped by the hosting companies who put profit before anything else and guide you towards their SSL offerings.
I'll agree that you might want to pay more for better support, but that's really separate from whether the SSL cert is paid for or not. Plenty of hosters provide good support for free certificates, and plenty of hosters provide bad support despite having a separate billing item for certificates.
