unfortunately the disk of my server crashed containing my certifiactes.
Is there a way to recover my certificates or do I need to (and can I) create new certificates?

You can create new certificates. Recovering old certificates isn't practically possible unless you can recover the private keys off the crashed server.
Mind the rate limits.

Hello @psw_berlin, welcome to the Let's Encrypt community. 
I suspect that you also lost your PRIVATE KEY(s), so that would leave creating new certificates as the only option.

Setting up the server again took some time (it's just a hobby ...).
Youwere right, I had to renew my certs but that went like a charm.
