After generating certificate using certbot, checked the configuration at https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=abhaysrivastav.net and got Protocol or cipher suite mismatch errors for lot of clients.

that's expected.
You have Tls.1.2 and 1.0 enabled. There are no Tls.1.0 Cipher suites, so Tls.1.0 isn't used.

I think nginx is working properly. Since i’m able to access http://abhaysrivastav.net, only the https requests are being timed out.

add cipher suits in main nginx.conf and
remove all include /etc/letsencrypt/options-ssl-nginx.conf
I don’t think nginx can see that file, if nginx can read the file it should print what’s in that file in nginx -T
and ssl_prefer_server_cipher: if all ciphers you said you support is secure then yes. if you included ciphers that are not as secure in it because backward compatibility then you set it on to prefer secure cipher.

and I don’t think this installation of nginx have full support of cipher suite: where you get this nginx from?
it honors ciphersuites set by config: but it doesn’t support much in beginning

new test says it successfully disabled tls 1.0 ( as the config says), and disabled rsa key exchange but doesn’t support new ciphers

Nginx added support for TLS 1.3 in version 1.13. 0.
My version is 1.14.0
On updating nginx, it seems already the latest version is installed.
nginx is already the newest version (1.14.0-0ubuntu1.7).
only thing I know is your nginx isn’t normal it should be support tls 1.3 , but it doesn’t
is this thing behind some kind of proxy?
