What client did you used to generate the certificate?
What OS your server uses, and what webserver (apache, maybe?). If you have shell access, there is no need to put the certificate nowhere - you can use certbot to do everything for you, including storing and serving the certificate and keys.
In addition to @VladGincher’s questions (which you should also try to answer!), can you tell us which certificate file you put into the web interface along with the key? Is it possible you selected one of the intermediate/chain files instead of the leaf certificate?
