My DNS does not support underscore character at the beginning on the hostname record

My domain is: faaprome.org.ar

I want to do a DNS challenge and I get these values:

DNS record name: _acme-challenge.faaprome.org.ar
DNS record type: TXT
DNS record value: “n2RF82jKhxMjue10BuvAPJ13gFokpPMcE6cYAtylUvw”

I want to add a dns record manually but the control panel of the webserver does not allow underscore at hostname

Is there an option to remove underscore?

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): ferozo

My web server is (include version): Apache/2.4.26 (Unix)

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Linux - 2.6.18-416.el5xen

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: donweb.com

No, that’s there explicitly so that it does not overlap with any routable names. Your DNS provider is not conforming to specifications, unfortunately.

The best option would be to take it up with whoever is providing your DNS, or change your domain’s nameservers to a better provider. Note that you can still stay with your domain registrar and host in almost all cases, and there are many great, free DNS providers out there. I’d personally recommend Cloudflare.
