Main domain on cPanel, subdomain on Google Blogger

I would try that. It deals with two birds at once.

Okay, I'll try that now. Thanks.

You seem to know how to create the CNAMEs correctly, so do not post the new code here. Just to be cautious, delete your previous post with the old code ASAP.

Oh, I figured the DNS records were public anyway. Can I just edit out the part of my post with the codes?

EDIT: I've already deleted the old record I referred to. Does that mean it's not necessary for me to delete anything here?

That should be fine. It's just a precaution.

Did the new record propagate yet? Can you dig it? :man_dancing:

Looks like it! And Blogger let me flip the toggle to HTTPS now!

The actual HTTPS doesn't seem to be working quite yet, and Blogger is displaying "Status: Unknown" next to the toggle, but I'm guessing that's something temporary while it processes the certificate setup or something. I can't find anything about it in the help, but I think I remember going through that before on another Blogger site.

I hope, anyway.

Now you just need an HTTP -> HTTPS redirect. I think the setting is on the same page.

Yay! It's not showing up for me yet. I guess I'll try restarting the browser.

Your cache you must clear.

Yay, it's working! Restarting the browser and refreshing the page a couple times seemed to do it.

Thank you soooo much! I realize now that the problem was a bit off-topic for this forum, but you solved it for me anyway - epic!

Just so I'm clear, I can separately set up Let's Encrypt for the main domain (yodasdatapad.com) in cPanel without having to worry about it affecting anything regarding the Blogger subdomain?

Correct, my friend.

Get your http to https redirects in place though.

Ah, thought I had already enabled redirection on the Blogger subdomain, but for some reason it didn't stick (maybe my flakey hotel internet connection). Seems to be working now. Thanks for the cPanel help link!

Any thoughts on which of the the replies in this thread I should mark as the solution? Looks like it ended up getting spread across several replies.

Whichever you wish, honestly. I have a running help topic in our (hidden) #lounge category to hopefully get some kind of "highlighting" for solution posts instead of just a "solution". For now though, you choose.

Okay, I guess my own reply quoting you and explaining how I messed it up probably summarizes it best.

Works for me. :slightly_smiling_face:

I'm still not seeing your redirect though. You need to do it in Blogger too.
