Hi,

Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.

This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should

be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.

The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one

space.

Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual

lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.

For example:

102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server

38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

127.0.0.1 localhost

::1 localhost

92.204.68.16 theglowsonic.com www.theglowsonic.com

NEED I SAY MORE?

so, (bit dense here) - what is the problem, different IP?

Your system has been hardcoded to go to that IP (always and forever).
[until you remove that entry]

That is an old entry from a previous provider.

OK, so what do I do? Is there light at the end of the tunnel? (at last?)

Yes, the light says:
Remove that entry from that file.

OK, so I remove the entire line: 92.204.68.16 theglowsonic.com www.theglowsonic.com ?

D

After ~100 posts, light has been seen

Yes. That IP is from an old host

Yes, and save the file.
Then test it again WITH PING from the cmd prompt.

I know, but cloudways support it was days and days, days... and still no joy

Must be nice!
Charge more and do less!

OK, so once I remove the line, I ping with the url?

D

Once you can PING the names and they return the new IP (178.62.110.86), then we are in the clear.

OK, doing so now. Be a minute.

You can't PING a URL.
Use only the names.
