Instruction Versions - Freenas + NextCloud Plugin

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is:eclarkpdx.hopto.org

I ran this command: unknown

It produced this output: none yet

My web server is (include version): nextcloud plugin on freenas

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Freenas version 11.2u - running a container of Nextcloud (plugin)

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): Yes

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): No

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot): Unable to use Certbot, says Access Denied - logged in as root.

I am having trouble finding the proper instructions to configure Certbot on NextCloud plugin for FreeNas. I see a whole lot of instructions on the let’s encrpyt site, but I am unsure which version to follow. Apologies, I am really new to all of this. I just got Certbot installed into NextCloud, were I had to change the default repo inside the Certbot container just to be able to download and install certbot. Now that it is installed, I am looking for the instructions for my version of OS and plugin.

Can you help me find the right information?

Thanks,
Eric

This question really belongs on the FreeNAS forums, but the answer is that there really isn’t any good way to implement Let’s Encrypt in the half-baked plug-in that iX put together. If you’re willing to consider a different method of installing Nextcloud, look here:

Thanks for the light!
