Install certbot

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is: xxx.org

My web server is (include version):QNAP TS 251

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):4-4-2-1270

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know):yes

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):no

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot): ??

I am Primary Looking for a Manual

  • which can advise me how I purchase a certificate
  • how I renew the certificate
  • how I install the necessary certificates on the NAS and on the Client to
    establish a VPN Connection.

In Moment I am neither familiar with such process, nor with certificates itself.

I would appreciate very much, if you can give me some hinds.
What I actually did is to install the filters on the router for ports (80,443,1194)
I have checked the Status from inside and outside the Internet if they are open.

Best Regards.
Ralf

Hi,

If you google with keyword: QNAP TS 251 Let’s Encrypt, you will see a forum topic on QNAP forum with detail guide on how to request a Let’s Encrypt certificate.

Google Link: https://www.google.com/search?q=QNAP+TS+251++Let's+Encrypt
Forum Link: https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?t=144434

Since Let’s Encrypt is only a CA that issue certificates, it’s quite impossible for Let’s Encrypt to write manuals on all devices, so you might want to look at QNAP’s forum for a manual with your machine.

Thank you

Thank you Steven,

I will read and test.

Is it possible to come back to you, if I run into problems?
I understand well, that you can’t provide manuals for different devices, but in many manuals there is missing how to test it and
some hinds what the problems can be.

Best Regards
Ralf
