Hit rate limit renewing certificates

I’m trying to renew my certificates and the standalone certbot doesn’t seem to be working anymore. After trying several times I’ve now hit the rate limit. Now I cannot even try. My product manages certs for a lot of my customers. And apparently I have less than a day or the entire product will be broken. This is a nightmare. With barely hours notice, Letsencrypt decided to break the entire product.

Why couldn’t we have a few days notice for this at least? Can I opt out of revoking my certificates?

Hi,

I moved your post to a new topic so we can provide more detailed help. Could you please share your affected domain names, and the output from a failed Certbot run?

Thanks,
Jacob

Nope. No.
Because it's the rule from CA/B and CA programs.
CA has 5 days to revoke all certificate in this case.
@moderators Can someone split this to a new topic?

What's your domain name?

What's the exact error message?

Thank you

Seem to be having the Same issue renew/creating certs to replace the ones flagged as not compliant

Thank you for your quick response. I was finally able to renew all the certificates.

For the record, the error message I saw in Certbot was this:

An unexpected error occurred:
There were too many requests of a given type :: Error creating new order :: too many failed authorizations recently: see https://letsencrypt.org/docs/rate-limits/

No problem.
It just looks like you’ve failed the challenges too many times and hit the 1 hour limit.
