Don't know where to get ACME TXT token

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is: cloudcitydigital.com

I ran this command: Request Cert in VirtualMin

It produced this output:

My web server is (include version): Apache 2

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Ubuntu 22.04

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: Linode

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know): Yes

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): VirtualMin 7.50

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot): certbot 5.1.0

I am trying to just use VirtualMin's built in GUI For generating SSL certs, I understand the concept of creating the TXT entry in my DNS on Linode, but I dont know where to get that token value.

I tried one that I found mentioned in my logs after a failure, but doesn't seem to be it.

I would really like to start from scratch, nuke anything there already and just create a cert using the GUI - any ideas? Did a config file get screwed up somewhere?

I think that is a better question for Linode support. They are more familiar with how your VirtualMin should work.

As to your question about TXT value ... VMin is using a program called Certbot in manual mode for the cert request. In that mode Certbot interactively tells you the TXT value and gives instructions on updating your DNS system. In fact, Certbot pauses to give you time to add that TXT record and verify it has sync'd across all your DNS Servers. Only after you confirm that does Certbot proceed to request the cert from Let's Encrypt.
