Certbot renew as a cronjob

hey folks,

i ran into a litte problem lately. I followed the hint at the very bottom of this page (https://certbot.eff.org/all-instructions/#freebsd-apache).
Cronjob twice a day… Now I get failures like: “urn:acme:error:rateLimited :: There were too many requests of a given type :: Error creating new cert :: Too many certificates already issued for exact set of domains:”

My understanding was, that ‘certbot renew’ first checks if the certs are about to expire. Apparently this is not the case…

Any help? Tweaks?

Disregard… Found the cause of the troubles… “renew-by-default” should not be in cli.ini :wink:
