Can I use the ssl service for my public ip?

#1

Hi, I have a local server in centos 7 and tomcat, my question is if I can use the ssl service for my public ip?

Let’s Encrypt only issues certificates to fully qualified domain names, not to IP addresses.

It needs to be on a domain, as @Osiris said. If you don’t have your own domain, you can probably use generate one from a free dynamic dns service that is on the “Public Suffix List” (otherwise rate limits apply to their domains).
