I’m using Namecheap as my domain registrar and whenever I tried to create a certificate via ZeroSSL and later validate my domain via TXT record with the acmechallenge_.sub.mydomain.com as host for a day it didn’t seem to propagate.
Is the only other way to create a certificate through Windows/Linux server software?

maybe there is something wrong. But to check that we need your domain name.
If you want to create a wildcard certificate, you must use dns-01 validation.
There are clients which supports automation:
That should be:
_acme-challenge.sub.mydomain.com
