This blog post states that IP certificates will be launched at the end of 2025. It's already November. Has the launch date been confirmed?
We are going to launch fairly soon, and have started giving early access to some users. If you’d like early access, post an account URL in this thread along with a brief description of what your use case is.
IP certificates are free too, right?
Yes
I'd like to test it out for DNS DoT/DoH/QUIC purposes ![]()
Also been running staging on shortlived since announcement almost.

Will this release be coupled with the 6-day cert support for regular names? Announcing Six Day and IP Address Certificate Options in 2025 - Let's Encrypt
Yes, the profile with short-lived certificates will include support for IP Addresses, and that will launch as a single thing.
I’m always eager to try out new things and can’t wait to dive in! I’m mainly interested in getting short-lived certificates.

How will I know when/if I get early access?
John.
I will reply here. It may not be for another week as many of us are on vacation next week (US thanksgiving)
I would like to test it, using caddy in for a homelab setup:

DoH and DoTLS using just IP addresses
Stateless SIP Proxy using IP addresses (because it's stateless, needing update certs frequently won't interrupt ongoing calls.)
And also I want to transition to short lived certs for webservers sooner rather than later.
I plan to use Let’s Encrypt to issue IP certificates for my encrypted DNS and some network devices that don’t support FQDNs. At the same time, since I’m already using Google CA custom validity feature to issue certificates with validity period less than 10 days, I’d also like to try Let’s Encrypt’s short‑term certificates.

I'm willing to test. I want an IP certificate for a DOH server which can be accessed directly without a server name.
