It will happen approximately during the afternoon (North America), but I can't give a more specific time than that.

Which one of the 5 timezones of continental US of A? :stuck_out_tongue:

I don't have that answer. It will depend on who makes the change and how long it takes, so we don't want to commit to anything more precise than that.

For stuff like this, you should generally expect a changeover to happen as early as 12:00am - and plan for an effective last day of the current service to be on June 5th.

Hi!

Do we have a more concrete about the start of this update? It's important for our customers to run several checks after it's complete.

Thanks in advance.

The steps involved in the change will take several hours to execute, and will be done in the afternoon during Eastern Time working hours. I would estimate the most likely completion time is about 3PM, but that could vary a few hours depending on how smoothly all the steps and tests go.

How much, if any, downtime is expected over those several hours?

No downtime is expected.

Will the switchover be all at once or will this be phased in and (potentially) have a period where some machines/requests use the old configuration and others use the new configuration?

Yes, there will be a period of time during the deploy when both the old and new configurations are loaded. It will be as short as 5 minutes, but depending on exactly how things goes, could be longer.

It's also important to clarify that the changeover will only affect subsequently renewed certificates.

Any services and clients using existing certificates will see no change until the certificates they use get renewed.
