Weekly limit Increase

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

I have multiple sub domains for the domain sowzer.com say that be 300. I have to bring online all 300 sub domain websites in 3 weeks maximum but due to rate limit of 50 certificates per week i am unable to generate more than 50 certificates per week. I seek help and request this limit to atleast 100 per week.

My domain is: sowzer.com

I ran this command: I am using a tool that automates certificate creation and installation on my domain

It produced this output: 50 certficates per week limit

My web server is (include version): Windows IIS

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Windows Server 2025

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know): yes

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): No

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot):

This isn't the place to request such an increase; that would be here (Rate Limit Adjustment Request - Intellistack). But is there a reason you can't use a wildcard cert?

I was able to make 50 certificates per domain per 7 days. I request an increase through the form and selected the following options

I have also received an acknowledgment email that request is processed. All i want to know is that is it possible now that i can make 100-300 certificates per 7 day rolling period.

I have to make 300 sub domains live in 3 weeks so requested to increase the rate limit from 50 to 100.

Just want a confirmation if this is what that got updated

Nothing you've posted indicates that anything "got updated." AFAIK, these requests are reviewed manually, and that takes time. But you haven't addressed my question:

I would have switched to the wildcard but the internal tool we are using at our organization is integrated with letsencrypt. All i do is go to a subdomain whose certificate is expiring it runs commands in backend and install new certificate automatically. All i see after 2-3 minutes is the website is installed with a new certificate.

The development team is comfortable with this and also too occupied to switch to wildcard.

All i want is just to increase the limit from 50-100 for the 7-day rolling period threshold

It's not my decision to make (that's up to the Let's Encrypt staff), but if it were, I'd say that sounds like a "you" problem. But again, that's someone else's decision to make.

Received this response from the lets encrypt team on my mail. Does this mean that i can now spin a 100 sites per 7 days ?

Yes, that's exactly what that email means. We increased the Certificates per Registered Domain rate limit (which is per 7 days) for sowzer.com to 300.

Thank you so much, James.

I appreciate your support and prompt response.

I have one final question. I understand that the seven-day threshold has been increased to 300 from the default 50, but could you also please confirm whether there is any overall limit on the total number of certificates that can be issued for the domain sowzer.com ?

We are expecting approximately 700 subdomain sites (e.g., portal1.sowzer.com, portal2.sowzer.com, etc.) to go live over the next five weeks. With the increased threshold, I would appreciate your confirmation that this volume can be accommodated without any additional limitations.

There is no limit on the total number of certificates, only on how fast you can order them, which you just got increase granted.

Thank you so much support for helping with this.
