Ubuntu PPA no longer maintained?

There are tons of releases on https://github.com/certbot/certbot/releases page. But ubuntu PPA repo doesn’t update beyond 0.31.0-1 release. I need some bug fixes from later versions. What should I do?

Try certbot-auto instead.
It will be the latest version and handles any/all it’s requirements.

Okay cool. Should I remove my current certbot installed from PPA? Do they conflict?

I would; and also the cron job that runs it.
[two certbots are NOT better than one - lol]
They don’t CONFLICT (hard) but it will get confusing if see any errors in the LE.log file - which one is having issues?

Indeed. Let me check out certbot-auto thing. I really hope it solves my current issue which is I cannot issue certificates automatically, only manual verification is working.

You would use all the same parameters/values as (before) with certbot.
[just add “-auto” to the lines - and modify path if different]

The Ubuntu PPA is still maintained and is still the recommended installation method for Ubuntu. The current versions of packages are safe to use and important bugfixes from newer versions have been backported.

As per the other thread, please check that python-acme is upgraded to the latest version.
