Trying to set up an ASUS RT-AX86U; Stuck in Authorizing"

@KYCowboy
Everyone has access to it - it's even more FREE than the popular FREE certs; and also on the Internet.
No special forms to fill out.
No standing in line.
No super-decoder ring required to "get in".

It only depends on the ACME client being used on how that is enabled.

In your case, correct me if I'm wrong, you're using an ASUS router.
For that you would have to review their documentation/site/blog/social media/etc. to learn where/how that is done via their device(s).

For other, more common, ACME clients it can be as simple as adding --staging or --dry-run to the requesting command line.

I cannot find a way to "fudge" the DDNS page on my Asus router to allow any command line variables. The system log is not very helpful:

Oct 1 13:17:49 rc_service: httpds 31445:notify_rc restart_ddns_le
Oct 1 13:17:49 start_ddns: update WWW.ASUS.COM update@asus.com, wan_unit 0
Oct 1 13:17:49 inadyn[494]: In-a-dyn version 2.8.1 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
Oct 1 13:20:00 rc_service: service 824:notify_rc restart_letsencrypt
Oct 1 13:20:00 Let's Encrypt: Err, DDNS update failed.

So I guess I'm stuck with what I have. Thanks anyway. FYI - I have resisted using Merlin or other replacement firmware, but who knows? Maybe I'll give it a try.

[ ignore me I'm a double post ]

Sorry about the double post above. The first one was being reviewed and I didn't realize it until too late.
