I have a question that probably comes up often for you.

I have a Synology. I reinstalled it without remembering to set aside the certificate.
When requesting a new Let's Encrypt certificate, I forgot to include the part for obtaining a wildcard (*.example.com).

Now that I want to recreate this certificate with the wildcard, it tells me I've made too many requests, and of course, I don't want to change the domain name.

Can you help me? Can you delete this certificate so I can generate a new one?

Thank you in advance.

Often enough and there is the same answer. Once you reach the limit of 5 identical certs in the past week you are blocked from getting more until they "roll off". An identical cert is one that includes the same name or set of domain names in it.

In your case you got 5 certs with your apex with a wildcard and also 5 certs with just your apex. Sadly, there is a work-around but you may have already used the most practical one.

Here is the Let's Encrypt docs about this particular rate limit: Duplicate Certificate Limit - Let's Encrypt

You can review your cert history below. You'll note there are 10 total certs from the past week. Looks like it will be a few more days before you could get another with either set of names

Thanks a Thank you very much for your quick and clear response. And once again, sorry for the fact that this question comes up often.

I guess it's just a matter of waiting now
