Noob question re iiS on Windows 10

Greetings,
OK, in advance, apologies to those who have greater knowledge and experience than I, but it’s a simple question … how do I first of all get, then apply the use of a certificate to a web site that I’m hosting/running on iiS on a Windows 10 platform which has been running successfully for some time but which now is attracting a wider audience?
