Looks like the other shoe dropped with regards to the earlier BuyPass announcement .
There are several factors that together make it no longer commercially viable for Buypass to continue services related to TLS/SSL Certificates. The decision is based on a comprehensive assessment of the market situation and the regulatory framework for certificate issuance.
Sad to see, but not unexpected.

Hmmm. Sounds like not just discontinuing free GoSSL certs but even paid and PSD2 certs:
Existing TLS/SSL certificates will remain valid and functional until they expire or are revoked. Revocation services, certificate status services (CRL and OCSP), and other necessary support functions will operate as normal for all certificates within...
I get a big splash warning on their paid certs page (links to page I show above)

I think they were the only major CA without a data center or office on US soil, which really worries me.

That's unfortunate.. Although I still use Let's Encrypt, I liked the idea of an European CA..

I suspect BuyPass will continue to operate but zero in on the Entity-Validated eIDAS market eIDAS and PSD2 certificates for electronic signature and website authentication | Buypass.com
Actalis are a CA in Italy that recently started offering some level of free ACME but they're still a fairly small company.

Who buys that stuff?
And the certificates they offer have some very big limitations (4 single SAN certificates?) Actalis
They might be good and they're a big public contractor etc etc but the other companies in their group, including the web hosting one (one of the biggest in Italy) don't have the best reputation (it's going up, tho)

Ha, well if I knew that I'm sure I'd have something to sell them.

They were bought out by an investment firm last year.

Does not say SAN. It's just single domain cert.
Also looks like ACME does not have the limit of 4.
Very similar to ZeroSSL limit of 3 but unlimited ACME.

Do they have a proper documentation page?
It does say 4 certificates, did I imagine/assume they only offer one name per certificate?
Bummer are there alternatives? Cause we do need them

I'd suggest Let's Encrypt
Or perhaps Google Trust Services, SSL . com, or possibly ZeroSSL
