Let's Encrypt - Receiving Email About Domains Not Controlled By User

I posted about this issue a long time ago. I still get expiry mails for two domains I don’t own:

Your certificate (or certificates) for the names listed below will expire in
19 days (on 28 Jun 17 12:06 +0000). Please make sure to renew
your certificate before then, or visitors to your website will encounter errors.

The link allows me to prevent any emails being sent to my email address, but that’s not what I want. I just want to disassociate my email address from the domains listed in the email. I’m guessing that somebody just provided my email address instead of theirs because they no longer wanted to these emails? Or it was a typo and they don’t even realize why they’re not getting any mails? How can this be fixed?

(And I’m not using Plesk.)

Cheers

hi @kensanata

You will need to review things very carefully

One email is registered to an account

If this is happening there can be one of two explanations

A) Someone is using your email to register their account keys
B) Someone has your account key and is issuing certificates outside your knowledge

A) is a nuisance
B) is a worry

I would suggest @jsha and @cpu have a look at the back-end and see which one it is

Andrei

I don’t think there’s any significant likelihood of option B. I think it’s either a bug in a control panel or someone’s typo.
