Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.
I ran this command:
certbot certonly --webroot -d mail.trykit.net -w /var/www/html
It produced this output:
My web server is (include version): iRedMail
The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Ubuntu
unbuntu 22.04
My hosting provider, if applicable, is:
self hosted
I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know): yes
I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):
iRedMail Admin latest version
The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot): I installed certbot today
We need more than that - there are several different ways that certbot can be installed.
All are not equal.
Please refer to the recommended installation methods found here: Certbot Instructions | Certbot (eff.org)
The contents of the log file would be helpful: /var/log/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.log
Alright, I will get those to you. But I also found some issues with my dns records on cloudflare I was using the wrong IP I was using the local ip instead of the public ip
I think I messed up things even more. I figured out my ip on ubuntu was not static so I attempted to fix that. And I cannot tell if I fixed it or made it worse because now I can not even connect via ssh and have to go to the computer manually. And I do not know much about the ubuntu command line or how to use it I just attempt to follow tutorials and posts online to guide me and there is so many different answers and commands to a single problem and they end up making it worse.
