How to generate ssl cert for a cname record?

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is:afcdeliveryrun1.youritbase.com

I ran this command:

It produced this output:

My web server is (include version):

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know):

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot):

My web app host on other server https://afcdeliveryrun.appgyverapp.com which I don't have DNS control on it.

I would like to use my own domain: afcdeliveryrun1.youritbase.com.
I have created a cname record
afcdeliveryrun1.youritbase.com CNAME afcdeliveryrun.appgyverapp.com

Questions:

  1. Can I run certbot to generate the ssl cert for afcdeliveryrun1.youritbase.com
  2. Do I need to create a virtual host on my own server to get the ssl cert?
If so, the virtual host will point to my server ip instead of the ip address of afcdeliveryrun.appgyverapp.com. It seem not working. I am using hestiacp as the control panel.

Regards,

You need to tell your SaaS provider that you want a certificate and you have added a CNAME, if they know what they're doing they'll have no problem getting a certificate on your behalf.
