Help required - Root Certificate Expiry - Impact on certbot

Hello All,

With reference to the below two links:

We use Lets Encrypt for SSL certificates for our sites. From the above two blogs, our understanding is, that Lets Encrypt would still continue to work as is for another 3 years.
We are currently using certbot (version - 0.28.0) to automatically renew the certificates. As we understand, the certificate chain is going to change. Does that in any way impact the certbot python package ? Do we need to upgrade it ?

Thank you

You're probably fine. What Linux distro and version are you using?

Certbot will automatically begin using the new certificate chain, on the first renewal after Let's Encrypt flips the switch. You shouldn't need to do anything on your end.

Thank you for the quick response.

We are using Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS and Amazon Linux AMI 2018.03
