Help me to install Certbot

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is:sistcad.com

I ran this command:

It produced this output:

My web server is VPS Windows Server Datacenter 2016 64b IIS

The operating system my web server runs on is : Windows Server Datacenter 2016 64b

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: contabo.com

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes)

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (Remote desktop)

The version of my client is (i don't know)

Please note that the Certbot team has discontinued Windows support. See Certbot Discontinuing Windows Beta Support in 2024 for more information.

I would advice you to switch to a different ACME client. See the link above where some suggestions are made or e.g. ACME Client Implementations - Let's Encrypt for some options.

Hi @RVargasL,

Your other option would be to choose an Operating System that Certbot supports,
and not use Windows.

Thanks. I'm going to think about changing the OS.

Another choice is to choose another ACME client for Windows.
I've used CertifyTheWeb on all my Windows systems without ever having any issues.

Is Open source?

I don't think so.
But it's free and well regarded.

Certify The Web is probably the easiest to use and very popular as @rg305 says

If you require open source consider win-acme or posh-acme. Both are designed for Windows

I believe the free to use community edition of Certify The Web is open sourced at GitHub - webprofusion/certify: Professional ACME Client for Windows. Certificate Management UI, powered by Let's Encrypt and compatible with all ACME v2 CAs. Download from certifytheweb.com.

I tey Again and receive this message

too many certificates (5) already issued
retry after 2024-10-04T15:27:04

You asked about installing certbot, but the error you've received shows that you've already received five certs within the past week. So what, exactly, were you doing? Be specific. Remember, we aren't mind-readers here.

The certificates they sent me had no data and were empty. With 0 Bytes

Start at the beginning. What, exactly, did you do? What, exactly, was the result? A closely-related question would be who, specifically, are "they" in your last post?

Feel free--encouraged, even--to use multiple complete sentences and paragraphs in your response.
