Could not renew (403 error) fora server without an actual web site

I am asked to manually renew my certificate. In Plesk, I don’t see any way to do this.

I see this error message:

Renewal of the following Let’s Encrypt certificates has failed:

• ‘Lets Encrypt thedesktop.com’ [already expired]
  [-] thedesktop.com
  [-] www.thedesktop.com

  Invalid response from https://acme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org/acme/authz/twgS6i9LAuG4QGcBnlUCQqIqqiXzMcvDpXTKZG3A61Q.
  Details:
  Type: urn:acme:error:unauthorized
  Status: 403
  Detail: Invalid response from http://thedesktop.com/.well-known/acme-challenge/eL_TlIZJ-rhXyQk_GecT9vYL6Koo5QK1O8YUieVf8W0

Perhaps because this domain is only being used as an email server address and all http requests are 301-redirected to a second domain for actual web content.

Any suggestions?

Just define an exception for /.well-known/acme-challenge/, so that requests to that location will not be redirected.
