Depending upon which user owns (webroot directory of billing.matttechbackups.com)
, I'm not sure what will happen with PHP when it can't spec up to the .well-known
directory because its parent directory (webroot directory of billing.matttechbackups.com)
does not allow read (4) or spec (1) for other/world. You could change the permissions on (webroot directory of billing.matttechbackups.com)
to 0755 to see if you fare better.
Good evening,
I tried changing the permissions on the directory, it did nothing. I even put it to 777 and still did nothing.
The I tried it on another subdomain shows.matttechbackups.com and it had no problems getting a staging certificate!!
Really at a loss right now and need it to work since it's my invoicing system that needs ssl to work properly.
What should I do next??

Have we reviewed whatever can be seen/modified in cPanel?
[like: comparing the working with not working names]
Like what?? I'll try almost anything at this point.
-- Robert
I'm not a cPanel
user; So, I'm only guessing here.
Anything, short of deleting the name and adding it back, might be helpful.
Is there some sort of view or edit?
If so, do that for two names and compare them.
That is very encouraging actually, despite the continued setback. As @rg305 indicated, there seems to be a difference in configuration of billing
compared to shows
(and possibly other subdomains). The fact that test.txt
is reachable, but not the challenge files, indicates to me that there's a difference in either...
- the way the challenge files are being served, which is somewhat unlikely at this juncture
- the way the challenge files are being created, which clearly lies outside of CertSage's intenal operation since a staging certificate was able to be acquired for what should be a very-similarly structured subdomain
That's what's got me confused! I don't see any difference except for the fact that billing has something setup and the other is an empty spot!

Good Afternoon!
Is there anything else we can do to get this installed,
or do i have to actually buy the ssl from namecheap ??
-- robert
I'm hoping to post a new release soon that will have code to check for file existence. Right now my working theory is that you need to see why the challenge files are being served differently by your multiple sites. That configuration difference is almost undoubtedly the cause of the current situation.
If you did, how would that cert get installed?
That would be namecheap.com support that would deal with it!
-- Robert
Would they charge to install an LE cert?
[if you got one yourself]
Last time I tried they said they can't help doing that as it's not officially supported!
Is there any updates??
I was reading other topics and tried the let's debug site to test the visability of my domain and this is the result
Has there been an update released yet?
Not yet, sorry. Been too busy.
