Can I remove the folders .well-known/acme-challenge?

Once the certs have been created, can I safely remove the folders .well-known/acme-challenge from the site root? Will LE recreate them at renewal time?

sure can remove without problems

normally it would be auto removed with some of the authentication methods

take it you used manual authentication?
