I don’t want to request for a new SSL certificate if I have just changed my domain DNS and the changes are not yet reflected in let’s encrypt name server. I think if LE name servers are not kept private, I should resolve my domain with them beforehand.
What name servers does Let’s Encrypt use?
None, the server always does its own authoritative lookups to minimise propagation time and risk of cache poisoning attacks.
Doesn’t matter. Just try it. If the authorization fails, no certificate will be issued, so there shouldn’t be a problem with any rate limits.
thanks cool110 and kelunik,
one more question, how many authoritative does let’s encrypt use to verify the domain?
