What do you do when an SCT submission fails

I got an error this morning finalizing an order with this message:

Error finalizing order :: Unable to meet CA SCT embedding requirements

It looks like it’s related to this issue: https://github.com/letsencrypt/boulder/issues/3546

What’s the best way to proceed and recover from this error? Is it safe to try to finalize the order again? should I start over with a new order?

If the order is not marked “invalid,” you can finalize again. Otherwise you should submit a fresh order.
