Speed-test-server Error: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. https://crt.sh/?q=example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

I have installed an Ookla server which is litening on ports 8080 and 5060 via http.but when i make the test i see this:

  • details : Response: , Error: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'speedtest.groupnet-iq.com'
  • tip : Connection over HTTPS failed.
  • status : FAILED

My domain is:speedtest.groupnet-iq.com

I ran this command:

It produced this output:

My web server is (include version):

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:th3p.net

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know):yes

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot):

Hi @huthaifa

there are some checks of your domain, last is ~~30 minutes old - https://check-your-website.server-daten.de/?q=speedtest.groupnet-iq.com (I’ve started the newer).

You have created a certificate:

Issuer not before not after Domain names LE-Duplicate next LE
cPanel, Inc. Certification Authority 2020-04-02 2020-07-01 speedtest.groupnet-iq.com, www.speedtest.groupnet-iq.com - 2 entries

via cPanel. Your port 443 uses that certificate.

But not your port 8080, the speedtest port.

I don’t know if it is possible to manage a speedtest port via cPanel. Perhaps you must find the files (privkey + cert/chain) and add it to your speedtest port.

idont find it

Hello @JuergenAuer

Are there any other solutions?

Hello @9peppe

i make certificate by certbot and edit OoklaServer.properties.
As in the attached

But the same problem so farز Is the addition method correct?

Read that document again, please. (And please realize what’s a comment and what’s not)
