No vhost exists with servername or alias

My domain is: ianmtrent.com

I ran this command: sudo certbot --apache -d ianmtrent.com -d www.ianmtrent.com

It produced this output: No vhost exists with servername or alias of www.ianmtrent.com. No vhost was selected. Please specify ServerName or ServerAlias in the Apache config.

My web server is (include version): Digital Ocean

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Ubuntu LAMP on 18.04

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: Digital Ocean

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): yes

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot): 0.28.0

Was able to resolve this issue quickly by creating a new virtual host file within the bottom of step 5 on this website https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-the-apache-web-server-on-ubuntu-18-04#step-5-—-setting-up-virtual-hosts-(recommended)
