How to start create

I’m trying to create a cert key with lets encrytp, to be able to use https on my site at a webhotel.
How to start?

Hi @bd8pq

what's that? A service you use? What's your domain name?

And what's your environment?

Please fill out the fields below so we can help you better. Note: you must provide your domain name to get help. Domain names for issued certificates are all made public in Certificate Transparency logs (e.g. crt.sh | example.com), so withholding your domain name here does not increase secrecy, but only makes it harder for us to provide help.

My domain is:

I ran this command:

It produced this output:

My web server is (include version):

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know):

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot):

Thank you,

My domain: www.duhar.se

My hostning provider: Loopia.se

With Apache and FreeBSD

The hostning provider offers to copy and paste the certificate and the key, se picture below.

I prefer to use a client with Windows 10 but if necessary something else.

So your options are limited, you can’t use a client running on your server.

As written in your other topic - check the list of clients.

Should be possible to find one with something like a --manual - option to create a certificate.

Or use one with dns validation, so you don’t need to upload the validation file.

Also, consider asking your hosting provider to support Let's Encrypt or switch to one that already does so.
