We had this discussion for CentOS + OpenSSL here:
The results were: Sometimes. It seems to fix OpenSSL 1.0.2, but not OpenSSL 1.0.1.
(I believe this is somehow related to OpenSSL's PARTIAL_CHAIN feature)
