And that's just how we (Dutch) like it! 
It's certainly not on purpose, but I'm also purposely not going to walk on eggshells 
It's "our" believe that it's better to be clear (and perhaps come across as "rude" from the standpoint of other cultures; it's not "rude" here ) than to sugar it up with possibly loss of clarity.
