StoreHippo is an Ecommerce platform and we have been using Let’s Encrypt services to offer free SSL certificates to our clients. Recently our IP has been blocked with the following error message;
ERROR in le-sni-auto:
Error: Registration request failed: {
“type”: “urn:acme:error:rateLimited”,
“detail”: “Error creating new registration :: too many registrations for this IP”,
“status”: 429
}
We are using your services to generate valid and independent SSL certificates for our various clients. Hence, we request you to whitelist our IP address or suggest a workaround so our clients can use the services of Let’s Encrypt to secure their ecommerce websites.
Kindly resolve this matter on a priority basis as our clients are losing customer trust due to unavailability of SSL certificate.
Glad to hear that StoreHippo has been able to use Let's Encrypt to provide HTTPS to clients!
Have you seen our integration guide? I would recommend checking the "One Account or Many?" section. We generally recommend that providers such as yourself create one ACME account for managing certificates instead of creating many accounts as you seem to be doing now.
If you wish to have the rate limit updated you will have to submit an adjustment form. Please provide all information requested. Note this is a manual process & can be slow depending on the resources of the person who manages it. I highly recommend you try the suggested approach of consolidating issuance to one account instead of trying to pursue a rate limit adjustment for the registrations per IP rate limit.
