Hi! So I am quite new to SSL certificate but already spent hours trying to find solution before I write this. My domain is:
www.logicalrebels.com
I use my NAS as host. I managed to add certificate but when I visit :
https://www.logicalrebels.com
I get “Your connection is not private” message in Chrome.
I tested the certificate in two different platforms and it seems that “SSL Certificate is installed correctly”:
https://globalsign.ssllabs.com/analyze.html?d=logicalrebels.com
https://www.whynopadlock.com/results/4f161489-6f62-46f4-86bc-7a0d2214fd14
The confusing part is whynotpadlock it says " Your SSL certificate does not match your domain name!
Protected Domains:
- logicalrebels.com
-
medijoe.synology.me"
while the first one is my domain name.
Another confusing point is that in this help:
https://www.synology.com/sv-se/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/Network/How_to_enable_HTTPS_and_create_a_certificate_signing_request_on_your_Synology_NAS
I found this: "…This warning appears because the web browser requires a third party certificate to verify the identity of the Synology NAS, but the browser does not trust the default certificate used by the Synology NAS.In identity of the Synology NAS and ensure the connection is truly secure, you will need a third-party certificate from a trusted certificate authority.
The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):
Disk station DSM 6.2.2
Domain provided godaddy
I can login to a root shell on my machine, YES
I’m using a control panel to manage my site: Not anything like Cpannel for example.
Could you please let me know what is wrong? and whether it is needed for a third party Certificate issuer? (If so, why using lets encrpy at the first place)
Thank you very much in advance for help. Have a great day
