Client (S/Mime) Certificate Generation?

My domain is:
I don’t have a domain name. This is an inquiry into how to generate S/Mime certs for email using Let’s Encrypt.

I ran this command:
?

It produced this output:
There was no command issued, so … no output.

My web server is (include version):
Does not apply

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):
I am using Debian, macOS, and Windows. If any of these can generate S/Mime certificates for email that would be great, but I’m not seeing how to use Let’s Encrypt to generate S/Mime.

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:
No one.

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know):
Yes.

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):
I don’t manage a site.

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot): Not using cert bot.

it doesn’t , and let’s encrypt root cert isn’t trusted for S/Mime usage
