Challenge failed for domain

My domain is:

I ran this command: /usr/local/bin/certbot-auto --nginx -d

It produced this output: Challenge failed for domain
http-01 challenge for
Cleaning up challenges
Some challenges have failed.

My web server is (include version): nginx/1.6.2

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Debian 8

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): yes

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): no

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you’re using Certbot): certbot 0.33.1

Hi @oermolaev

your port 80 doesn't answer ( ):

Domainname Http-Status redirect Sec. G -14 10.030 T
Timeout - The operation has timed out 200 0.934 B -14 10.030 T
Timeout - The operation has timed out

If you want to use http-01 validation, an open port 80 and a webserver is required. So a http status 404 - not found should be the answer checking a not existing file in /.well-known/acme-challenge.

Dear JuergenAuer, thank you very much for the hint!
