Well, that is possible however unlikely. May be your IP is not correct? What is the output of the command curl -s 'http://ifconfig.me/' on your Pi?

There does not seem to be any output after putting in that command.

You should also port forward port 443.

You shouldn't put both curl commands on the same line with 'and' in between, but execute them separate.

I feel very dumb that the only reason it wasnt working was because port 443 wasnt implemented... It seemed like a much bigger complex issue...
